British Board of Film Classification
The BBFC is an independent non-profit organisation that helps everyone in the UK, especially children and families, choose age-appropriate content. The BBFC provides ratings for films, videos, and websites, and helps mobile operators with parental controls. DVDs and Blu-rays sold in the UK must have a BBFC age rating unless exempt. The BBFC assists Trading Standards Officers with enforcing the Video Recordings Act 1984.
