Leicester counterfeiter/money launderer gets 2 years in prison

Following a prosecution brought by Leicester City Council Trading Standards Service, Vinay Kumar Hansrani (48) of Hall Close, Kibworth Harcourt, Leicestershire has been sentenced to 24months imprisonment for money laundering and 12 months imprisonment for counterfeiting designer clothes. The sentences are to run concurrently.

Chartered Trading Standards Approved Codes of Practice have risen by a remarkable 84 percent over the past two years while 11,000 new businesses (25%) joined the membership over the past 12 months, according to the Consumer Codes Approval Scheme (CCAS) Annual Report published today.
