Chris Elliott

Professor Chris Elliott is Founder of the Institute for Global Food Security at Queen鈥檚 University Belfast and Professor of Food Security at Thamassat University, Thailand.
He is Senior Scientific Advisor to UN agencies on food safety and authenticity. And has published 600+ peer-reviewed articles. And also led the UK鈥檚 2013 Horsemeat Scandal Review.
Recipient of multiple awards, including an OBE, Theophilus Redwood Prize, and a Winston Churchill Fellowship. He is Honorary President of the Society of Food Hygiene and Technology (2024); elected to the Royal Irish Academy (2020).
